Mission : 20

Published on March 31, 2014 by in Umang 2014

Collage (7)“Teamwork: Simply stated, it is less me and more we.”

A long story cut short: laughter, traffic, sweat and water bottles – This is what our Friday was full of. The day started as early as the sun rise and we set sail to complete the core of Umang’14. So here it is, the making of the core of Umang’14.

Ritika Kapasi was greeted with her core t-shirt at 7:30 in the morning and needless to say she was sleeping peacefully. After fully regaining consciousness, we seriously think she lost it again after she questioned us whether she could take the t-shirt.

Utsav Shah was in his ganji and shorts when we woke him up with our car honking. We seriously think he didn’t use his permutations and combinations to predict our arrival.

Aakriti Kaul and Anushrie Agarwal were called outside their hostels and handed over their t-shirts. It was quite a teary moment for the macho Aakriti.

Even google maps had difficulty finding the places of Dheeraj Dandekar and Nehal Shah. But the autowalas and taxiwalas were a great help.

Then there were some who actually took 5 mins to open their doors and were awestruck like Vishwa Vora, Kushal Ashar and Upansu Shah. Apparently Vishwa was studying when we reached there (We believe you Vishwa!).

Mallika Bhambri was jumping with joy and had tears in her eyes when she saw us. A typical Bollywood scene we tell you!

Simran Shroff had just woken up from her beauty sleep and to add to our surprise she had slept in her on-days Umang’13 t-shirt. Another one who was in her best outfits was Shagun Kejariwal. She couldn’t even guess which department she was selected for.

Ridhi Lodha was so eager to be a part of the core that she literally snatched the t-shirt away from our hands. Shivani Gupta was too engrossed in her phone that she didn’t even notice us but soon we heard her squeals of happiness.

Vaibhav Jain, Jaanvi Thakkar, Yash Shah,Neer Jain and Nikita Mehta were not at home so instead we called them at different places with an excuseof a re-assignment. All of them were quiet bored at thought of a re-assignment were but in the end it was all worth it.

Sana Kasmani was told that she had left some things in college and was asked to collect them from one of us near Parle station. She was gullible enough to believe us!

The first core meet of Umang’14 happened on the same day where everyone was present in their core t-shirts with grins plastered on their faces and an immense passion within themselves. Together we’ve embarked on a fun journey of our lives and no one can now separate Umang from us. In the end there was only one thing left to say…

Reach for Moo-re…

Prateik Babbar and Amyra Dastur in the Umang Headquarters!

Published on July 25, 2013 by in Umang 2013

One fine rainy morning, Prateik Babbar and Amyra Dastur dropped into the Umang Headquarters to promote their new movie, Issaq. Read on to find out what they had to say for our questions…

What was your college life like?

Prateik: I was in Jai Hind college. Studies never interested me. I was creatively oriented. I always knew I wanted to do acting. So I played pranks and bunked lectures :P

Amyra: I am still in college! I am studying in HR College in SY B.Com. I have crazy shooting schedules but I somehow manage. I do have attendance issues, but my professors are understanding.

Prateik, you come from a line of legendary actors. Do you ever feel the pressure to perform well?

Yes, I do. But they are my inspiration too. It keeps me pushing to do better and better.

Amyra, how was it working on your first movie with Prateik?

The entire filming experience was awesome! And Prateik is an awesome co- star. He’s very patient and a very kind hearted person.

What is Issaq all about?

Issaq is based in Banaras. Its a modern take on Romeo and Julliet. Its about love in the times of war. Its an amazing movie, make sure y’ all catch up with the movie in theatres!
