PROshows is the department which not only is responsible for roping in PROfessionals, but also ensures that everyone at Umang is given a chance to witness enthralling performances that will remain etched in their memory. This department looks after PROshows, PROnites, PROartists, PROexhibits, PROfillers and Anchors.
Workshops is a department which organizes sessions of interactive learning between the audience and renowned personalities in various fields. Creativity and imagination are the key to Umang’s very unique and uber cool workshops. This department also organizes Appreciations, Discussions, Book Readings , Decentralized Workshops etc.
Sans Frontières is the editorial team of Umang. It designs and compiles the official Umang magazine – Sans Frontières. It is also the mind behind the blog and is entrusted with the responsibility of content of the website and other nomenclatures including the social media content. Let those creative juices flow and be the voice of Umang.
Fine Arts organizes competitive events giving a platform to various collegians to showcase their artistic side and creativity. This department also puts up one of the main highlights of the festival, the “Fine Arts Exhibit’ which is based on a new theme every year and is creatively designed and structured to depict a deep meaning rooted in the theme.
Music and Contemporary Arts
The first part of Performing Arts, MCA organizes various music events encompassing both Indian and Western forms and other contemporary arts that are off-beat and fun. It provides a stage to all the amateur singers, musicians and those who excel in varied contemporary arts.

iNFORMALS! is that department that conducts events that tests your wit and spontaneity. It adds to the fun and whacky quotient of the festival. What you need is a personality that entertains. It organizes registered, unregistered, centralized and decentralized activities. It also conceptualizes the iNFORMALS! lounge. They keep the crowd that comes for the fest entertained throughout. It is also in-charge of the Toon plan and the redemption counter on-days.
It comprises of cyber and console gaming (UCG and RAGE respectively), indoor and outdoor gaming events. It also has unregistered events. A personality with quick decision making, pressure handling skills and creative innovations is what we’re looking for. This department gives a chance to experience new types of leisure sports.
Management ∞ Fest
Management ∞ Fest organizes events that deal with strategy, idea generation, problem solving and number crunches. It tests the skills of the participant in every field of management. This is one of the departments that introduces a plethora of innovative events every year. It jointly comes up with a toon plan along with iNFORMALS!. It handles the Umang Stock Exchange and Pehel.
Don’t mistake this department for an all literature events department. Literary Arts is the department which provides a platform for the participants to showcase their linguistic abilities with events like creative writing, debates , quizzes on different topics , vernacular events and other such events. It also conducts the LIT Fest which includes many things like the Umang book launch, panel discussion and book reading. This department also conducts decentralized LA activities, Online LA and manages the Lit Lounge.
Dance and Dramatics
Dance and dramatics deals with the other half of performing arts – dance and drama. It conducts events encompassing various Indian and Western forms of dances, drama events like plays, skits, theatre which adds to the entertainment quotient of Umang. This department encourages various types of events that have never been seen before and provides a platform to the upcoming stars of the industry. It also conducts decentralized DnD activities.
Vice-Chairperson 3 : Paritosh Bhandari (+91 9820043407)
This department ensures perfect flow of all the people coming into the festival. It handles the security on-days. It also takes all the external permissions required for the festival and is in charge of the allocation of Umang assistants. It is the crux of Umang’s manpower and gives Umang the physical strength it needs.
Finance handles the inflow and outflow of funds in the festival. It is in charge of our budget and allocates funds to various expenses of the festival. Researching various options, it aims to minimize the cost. It conceptualizes and executes a plan for expenses incurred for and by its members. It is also responsible for documentation and statistical analysis of all information related to the festival. On days Finance handles the scoring system. Post festival, it is in charge of finalization of accounts.
The design and creativity center of Umang, it is responsible for making all the nomenclatures of Umang. It is in charge of developing and updating the website. It prepares the required documents for the registration procedure before and on the days of Umang. On-days it helps in the registration process documenting and scoring.
This department is in charge of how Umang looks on-days. It depicts the theme of the festival through various forms of visual and applied art. It includes art work such as painting, photography, sculpting, graphic designing and others. Creatives also manages the prizing procedure on-days. It helps the Computers team with the artistic elements of the nomenclatures.
Printing & Stationery
This department undertakes the printing of all nomenclatures in the festival. It also assists the Creatives and Computers department in conceptualization of all nomenclatures including Umang merchandise. It fulfills the stationery requirements of the festival. On the days of the festival, this department takes charge of the distribution and sale of Umang merchandise and all the stationery required for various events.
Vice-Chairperson 4 : Pankil Jhaveri (+91 9820017239)
This department associates with the corporate world, ensuring the inflow of cash into the festival. It also is responsible in bringing in quality kind for the purpose of prizing in events and ensuring the financial sustainability and the brand recognition of the entire festival. Deciding the scale of the festival is this department’s responsibility.
This department makes sure that every outsider knows what Umang is and what happens in it, it reaches out to the target audience through social media, press and various other instruments. It manages the press and media on-days. From social media marketing to the recognition and outreach of Umang, this department spreads a word to pull in crowd on days of the festival.
Anyone who comes to Umang does not leave with an empty stomach! This department is responsible in bringing in food sponsors, in setting up the food court at Umang, it also manages the organizers cafeteria by speaking to caterers and provides food for all the judges of every event.
The department is the main line of contact between the organizers, the audience and the college contingents. It manages the information desk and is at the service of participants, audience, judges, and everyone else that comes to the festival, it also conducts the invitation process to invite various colleges, in station and outstation to come to the festival for participation in events.
It is in charge for setting up the entire festival, for the complete infrastructural development, it manages the sound and light for all the venues, the decorators, cleaners. It also is responsible for putting up the décor, managing the on days logistics and flow of events along with the assistance of security.
