The D-Day

The D-Day

The making of the core of Umang’15- An eventful journey filled with laughter, elation, tears, drama and confusion.

To begin with, there were the ‘Mulund-ites’…

The Top5 had to get their visas made since they had to cross the national boundaries to reach Heli and Shreeya. After taking so much of trouble, Shreeya didn’t show up at her place and the Top5 ended up chitchatting with her parents, whereas Heli squealed with delight onto seeing them (making all the pains taken to reach Mulund totally worth it)!

Then there were the sleeping beauties…

Nirmit and Krisha were woken up at 7 AM and 8 AM respectively. Nirmit was the first HOD to be selected! Krisha was so deeply in slumber that she did not realize that she had become an HOD until the Top5 left. Well, Shivani was woken up at 10:30 AM (which is early according to her) and the first question she asked them was ‘Itna jaldi kaun aata hai?’

The people who troubled the Top5…

Kushal and Simran were in their CPT classes when the Top5 arrived at their houses. Kushal was called back home to play a game of tennis whereas Simran was made to wait for twenty minutes for her driver to take her to class which was five minutes walking distance from her place. Aditya was at his friend’s place and was telephoned by his dad who faked an emergency and was asked to rush home. Our busy HOD Rohit was occupied with his internship and left his interview halfway when he was called to college to collect the core T-shirt!

And the people who we think fell into trouble after the Top5 left…

When Yash saw the Top5 standing outside his house he got so exhilarated that he started using the ‘F-word’ in front of his mother. She didn’t say anything until the Top5 left but we are sure there was some difficulty he faced later!

Also, there were people who worked a little harder than the rest…

Gautam was made to redo his entire assignment and Rushil was asked to make a phase plan for the security department before getting selected. The Top5 pretended to be very displeased and unsatisfied with their work. These two had to go through a lot of drama before getting their core T-shirts.

Then the inhospitable people…

When the Top5 went to Kinjal’s house she was so elated that she started talking to herself. And by talking we literally mean questioning and answering to herself. She got so ecstatic that it did not occur to her that she had to invite them inside.

Next, there were the permanently poker-faced people…

When Karan (who to our surprise was in his on-days Umang’13 t-shirt) and Vithika were given their core T-shirts, they were so dumbfounded that all they did was mutter soft ‘thank yous’. Aastha knew that the Top5 were going to her place as her alumni forbade her from stepping outside the house by telling her that she’d get a sunstroke. She pretended to be excited but failed miserably. Matin had threatened all the security guards of his building, to neither stop nor question, if they saw five people wearing black T-shirts enter the building.

Later, there was our Merissa…

Our Muscat ki Merissa was not here during the core selection day. Since she doesn’t comprehend Hindi, she was asked to go to the ‘NM College Sauchalay’ (which she thought was a class room) to collect her T-shirt! It was one hilarious journey!

Lastly, we had the drama queens

Our Macho man Jay got weak in the knees and sat onto the floor on seeing the Top5. It was quite a teary moment for him. And Viraj started repeating ‘no no no’, like someone was setting him on fire, but obviously with a LOT more glee!

So finally, these were the 20 people who grabbed their ‘Mauka’ and got to burst their firecrackers.

  1. FV, couldn’t agree more. Its the soecnd hartal[bandh] in 8 days for us Keralites . That too for the very same reason. And today, Chief minister V.S Achuthanandan proclaimed, they would conduct umpteen number of strikes if they wanted to.Talk bout a democratic nation!Thankfully, people over here tend to celebrate hartals by going to a relatives place or getting together for some football.A Bandh shouldn’t be enforced on people. If they want let them observe it, else let them get on with their daily lives. As long as the sena and other such violent group exists, people will be scared to get out of their home.

  7. Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog
platform are you using for this site? I’m getting tired
of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform.

  8. Make sure that the punishment instantly follows the bad behavior or they will not know
what they are in there for. Waylon boarded Brody for two consecutive weeks as part of his boot camp and
behavior modification program. As a certified evaluator you can charge a reasonable fee to administer the test and handle the paperwork.
